It’s Roopa’s birthday and Jas has paid for a pampering afternoon at Beauty Magic. Simran has thrown in the champagne as a treat. Roopa wishes she’d arranged something for later on because they’ll be all dressed up with nowhere to go. Jas reckons there will be plenty of time for her to go clubbing now that it’s legal for her to do so. Roopa sadly reflects on the past few days but Jas has to remind her that there is life after Aidan. Roopa confesses that there was times when she went back to her bulimia days because she felt trapped by him and she’s definitely not going there again.
At Saffron Rays, Rita and Pradeep are preparing for Roopa’s surprise birthday party. Kuljit arrives with her birthday cake and mentions that there was a break in at the gift shop near him. Kuljit’s phone rings and it’s Ranbir. Kuljit tells Pradeep later that Ranbir is settling in well at his new school but he’s one of the lucky ones, as kids these days have nowhere to go and nothing to do. Pradeep disagrees, these kids have no excuse for intimidating people and he’s not interested in why these kids are doing it when his son is being picked on.
Rita rings Jas to alert her that everyone is waiting for them. Jas drags Roopa for a burger supposedly and they pop through Saffron Rays. Roopa is surprised and touched when everyone sings Happy Birthday to her, they have all gone to so much effort.
Roopa’s party is in full swing and Pradeep suggests to Rita that maybe they should forget about the dining room and give Kamla her old room back. Jas goes outside to find Roopa. Roopa tells Jas that Aidan has left her another voice message and it sounds like he’s in a bad way. Jas listens to it and thinks he’s trying to manipulate her with emotional blackmail, he needs professional help. Roopa feels guilty about the way things turned out but Jas insists she shouldn’t let Aidan spoil her special day and drags her back inside.
