Mushtaq shows Brian around Silverhill Rangers. Brian thinks this is a nice setup but a refurb wouldn’t go amiss. Mushtaq says the fans are more interested in the club getting back on track. Brian wonders if Mushtaq is worried that if the club goes down the rest of his businesses will go with it. He should spread his bets like Brian does. He has just bought the old boxing gym on Silver Street for a cheap price and will use it for storage until the economy improves. Mushtaq thinks this is all ridiculous but Brian disagrees. And he would be more than happy to buy Mushtaq’s little empire too!
Krishan gets something in the post and rushes upstairs with it. Rita later discovers it’s a prospectus for boarding schools along with a letter about bursaries. Krishan lies at first claiming it’s homework research but later admits he was interested because the bursaries help talented people who are being held back. Rita is shocked as Krishan launches into an attack about having to share a room with Kamla and never getting any space. Unknown to Krishan his Gran has heard him. Rita asks if Kamla could give them some time alone but Krishan says sorry and rushes downstairs.
Brian is trying to persuade Mushtaq to let him get involved in the club. He has time on his hands and can make the right connections. Suddenly Kenny bursts in saying they have sold two players for a decent price. Mushtaq takes great pleasure in telling Brian this money will secure their future. Kenny adds they wouldn’t say no to another cash injection though. Brian decides to leave and bumps into Sandra who is struggling with some boxes. Brian introduces himself as the guy who gave Mushtaq Jilani his big break in property development. Sandra seems impressed and offers to show Brian the players area.
Kamla is packing her things. It’s about time she moved on and let the rest of them have some space. Rita tries to stop her but Kamla says its for the best. She puts on a cheery front saying she learnt how to be independent whilst in New York so everything will be fine. Rita asks where she will go but Kamla reckons it won’t be too far away….
