Imran’s on the phone to someone apologising that he’s not been in touch because he’s been busy. He hangs up telling the person that he’s missing them too.
Jas bumps into Imran. Things appear to be a little awkward between then. Imran says he’s heard she’s been working in New York. Jas explains how she loves it and there is so much to do and see, unlike in Silverhill. Imran defends it, saying Jungli’s cabs are new! They’re outside the Golden Crown and Imran invites Jas for a soft drink.
Mary is pleased to see Imran and assumes he’ll be taking on more community projects again. Imran tells Jas that people think he’s never left and he’ll just pick up from where he left off and the time in between didn’t matter. Jas talks about Aidan and the drugs. Imran can’t believe Roopa’s not a child anymore, he’s glad that they bumped into each other.
Mary asks Imran if he’s seen Mani yet. She explains that he’s at home mostly, he’s had a tough time and she’s sure he’d like to see her surrogate son. Imran feels like he’s let people down by not being around for them, even for Zak when he lost Fatima. Mary says he needed to get away too to sort himself out.
Imran is surprised to see Mani in an unshaven state, he asks him what has been going on. Mani reluctantly explains that he’s just been re-evaluating his life and where his priorities lie but he doesn’t want to talk about himself, he wants to hear all about his travels. Imran reveals society as a whole is out for themselves. Travelling made him realise that he’s always been putting others first, now he will concentrate more on his own life and the people closest to him.
