Pradeep is cooking for the dinner with Aidan’s parents when Rita rings to say she will be working late. Pradeep tells Roopa he will be entertaining Diane and Jeff for the first hour or so. Roopa tells her dad he really didn’t need to go to all this trouble. Pradeep replies they have realised how much Aidan means to her so the least they can do is make an effort.
Dr Masud and Zak are going through photos they took in Mecca. As they reminisce Zak gets a picture message on his phone. It’s Pervaiz and Khatija standing outside a mosque in Islamabad. Zak has been thinking about his parents a lot since returning from Mecca and wants to know his parents are well looked after in Pakistan. Zak is torn between going over there and making a go of things here. Dr Masud says Zak must listen to his heart for the answer. Later Zak announces that talking things through tonight has helped him decide he wants to be in Pakistan with his parents. He is leaving Silverhill.
Jeff nips out for a cigarette leaving Diane to chat to Pradeep. She tells him that Jeff keeps animals in France. Pradeep describes his own involvement in the City farm saying maybe they have something in common after all. Pradeep heads off to heat up more samosas. As Roopa tucks into one Diane says it’s good to see a young girl enjoying her food although she can’t imagine where Roopa puts it. There’s nothing to her!
Later Pradeep seems more relaxed and even suggests putting some music on. Diane wishes Aidan was here as he could have played them something. It’s good to know Aidan has a rock like Roopa in his life. Pradeep reminds Diane that Roopa has her own life to get on with as well as looking out for their son. Roopa heads upstairs leaving the parents to talk. Diane continues telling Pradeep what an impressive young woman his daughter is.
Elsewhere Roopa is sobbing her heart out in the bathroom. She locks the door and tries to block out the merriment from downstairs as she makes herself vomit….
