Kuljit and Arun are carrying a sofa from the van into the studio. Kuljit has promised Arun fish and chips if the sofa gets in without any marks. Arun stops moaning immediately.
Krishan is doing his homework but gets interrupted by Pradeep who wants to thank him for letting Suresh and everyone share his room. Pradeep also explains that Jas and Kamla may be staying in Silverhill longer. Jas will stay elsewhere but he’s unsure about Ba. Krishan remembers that the dining room which was Ba’s bedroom has been changed and he knows where this conversation is going. Krishan goes mad, there is no way he is sharing his room with his grandma, it was bad enough sharing with Arun, how is he meant to study? Pradeep says they will make it up to him, leaving Krishan no choice but to storm out.
Arun asks Kuljit about Ranbir. Kuljit knows Ranbir is ignoring his calls but he can’t go over to his grans because he had a go at Ranbir’s head teacher at school. Kuljit is worried about what Ranbir has been up to though especially since Simran said he was amongst the gang that threatened her and Krishan. Even Arun reckons kids these days are psychos carrying knives and then acting like they’re not to blame.
Krishan has an idea. He’s measured up and there is room for Ba’s bed to be on its side in the day and laid out at night. Pradeep says it will look terrible and they’ll keep banging into it. Pradeep says it won’t be forever and when Roopa is better, Ba can share her room for a bit. Krishan thinks maybe he should go off the rails too in that way he’ll get what he wants.
Kuljit pulls up outside Ranbir’s gran’s house, he thinks he ought to see her but don’t quite know what he’ll say, she’ll flip if she hears Ranbir’s in a gang. He bites the bullet and goes to knock on the door.
