Have your say

Arun is finishing a conversation on the phone to Sean who is in Manchester for his birthday; he mentions that the roof to the Parkside Centre is a right mess and patched up with a tarpaulin. Just as he’s finishing his conversation Jas approaches and asks Arun if he’s noticed anything odd about Aidan. She tries to convince Arun to approach Roopa with her. Arun is dismissive – he’s tried talking to Roopa about Aidan and she didn’t want to hear it, the days of her listening to her older brother and sister are long gone!

Over at Aidan’s flat Aidan is getting more and more frustrated with Roopa who is in humming along to their song ‘Wicked Game’. When he demands that she turn it off Roopa’s confused – he was listening to it quite happily before he fell asleep at three in the afternoon! In fact she is only at his flat as he wanted to go Christmas shopping. Aidan tells her he’s changed his mind and wants to be on his own. Roopa can’t believe it; she accuses Aidan of smoking weed again. Roopa decides she’s going and reminds him about the rehearsal that evening. She doesn’t want him turning up in that state. Aidan turns nasty, he accuses her of always getting what she wants and even brings up her eating disorder as Roopa walks out, slamming the door behind her.

That evening, at the dress rehearsal, Arun’s not happy about his Aladdin costume. Nadia’s made a traditional kimono which he claims isn’t ‘street’ enough. He also refuses to wear his other outfit which includes an anorak and cardigan. After all Bina will never let him live it down if he wears them in front of her and he rushes out of the room followed by Shazia who has the poor job of helping Chunky with his ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

Once they’re alone Jas tries to speaks to Roopa. She starts by mentioning about Bina’s choreography and remarks that they aren’t as close as they once were. Jas thinks it might be because she’s got Aidan now. She asks Roopa where he is and claims she’s ‘just interested’ in his whereabouts. Roopa instantly knows something is up as Jas is never ‘just interested’ in something. Jas admits that Aidan was snappy towards Greg and she’s worried that there is another side to him. Roopa is quick to defend Aidan and tells Jas she is no-one’s little sister any more and her relationship is fine.

Shazia is attempting to explain the new script changes to Aidan who seems confused by it all. When Roopa approaches she tries to help but Aidan snaps at her and walks out for some air. Roopa is quick to defend his behaviour to Shazia and says that he’s sorry; Shazia replies that they always are.

Outside Aidan’s skunk smoking is interrupted by Arun practising his lines. However they seem to spook Aidan’s paranoia and he tells Arun to shut up about his pathetic pantomime. Arun is quick to defend it remarking that Aidan doesn’t even seem capable of working a music desk. Arun warns Aidan that’s he will be watching him, he’s seen Roopa’s bruised arm and doesn’t believe she slipped, if he finds out that Aidan laid a finger on her, he’s dead.
