Arun complains he was kept awake by Vinnie talking to himself all night. Vinnie says he was rehearsing for Aladdin thanks to Krishan dropping out. Arun reckons Krishan wouldn’t have been able to cope with Bina’s forceful personality anyway. Arun can see where Vinnie’s train of thought is going and says no way. Vinnie asks Arun to help with the music at least as things aren’t exactly working out with Aidan.
Elsewhere Roopa is confronting Aidan about accusing a toddler of taking his precious drugs. Simran was going on and on about how good Aidan is with kids. Aidan retorts he must be. He does hang out with Roopa after all. Her ranting and raving isn’t exactly mature behaviour. Roopa is hurt and reminds Aidan he promised to lay off the strong stuff. Aidan replies he says a lot of things he doesn’t mean!
Bina hands Vinnie a list of all the cosmetics she needs to play Princess So-Shy. Vinnie reminds her it’s is a community pantomime. Bina is horrified when Vinnie hands her old flip-flops for her first scene. According to Bina a princess only wears heels. Vinnie says the story is set in China. Bina doesn’t care. Has Vinnie never heard of Jimmy Choo! As Bina rehearses Arun finds it all very amusing. Vinnie suggests he could be more useful by reading the part of Aladdin. Bina protests but this encourages Arun to jump on stage. He starts rapping but Vinnie doesn’t seem to mind. Afterwards Vinnie calls Zenab to say they are going to adapt her script with some urban dialogue. Suddenly the phone goes dead.
Aidan turns up with a song for the genie of the lamp. Roopa thinks it’s much better than the other stuff he has been writing lately. Aidan is surprised she doesn’t recognise it. Didn’t Roopa claim to be a fan of David Bowie? Roopa tries to retract her comment but the damage is done. At least Aidan knows what she really thinks of his music!
The cast and crew are excited about this new version of Aladdin and insist Arun should play him. Vinnie wants to rewrite the script straight away as the others start shouting out their ideas. This is going to be one show nobody forgets in a hurry…..
