Munir discovers Zak reciting prayers on Mount Arafat along with other pilgrims. Zak has been doing this for six hours without a break. Munir says Dr Masud is chatting to some Pakistani pilgrims. He wonders if Zak told the tour guide they are making their own way back to Mecca. Zak says Asif wasn’t happy but what can he do. Munir heads off to make arrangements for their journey as Zak continues praying. He thanks God for the time he got to spend with Fatima – however short.
Elsewhere Dr Masud is on the phone to Shazia who is nagging him about taking better care of himself. Shazia also thinks it would be more sensible for them to stay in Asif’s group but the doctor insists he is fine. Shazia then mentions Dr Hassan. Her father suggests she invite him for an Eid meal tomorrow to which Shazia replies he must be fine if he is still matchmaking. As Dr Masud finishes the call Zak turns up wondering whether Munir is back yet. They hear a horn and Munir shouts out that this chicken truck is their lift. Later when they arrive in Muzdalifa Dr Masud is feeling tired. Munir offers to keep him company while Zak heads off to collect pebbles for the symbolic stoning of the devil which takes place tomorrow.
Zak is in the desert when he hears Fatima’s voice. She asks what he was thinking about today whilst praying. Zak says he asked for forgiveness for being so angry about losing her. Zak has realised everything is in God’s hands and that includes Fatima’s death. Zak is jolted back to reality by Munir shouting out something about Dr Masud and for Zak to come back quickly. Zak discovers Dr Masud lying on his mat. He is quite unwell and Munir rushes off to find a doctor. When he has gone the doctor calmly tells Zak they both know some decisions aren’t theirs to make. There is no greater place for a Muslim to end his days than in the Holy Land. God will decide what is best….
