Dr Masud continues his match-making and invites over the plumber, Iqbal, who Mary suggested. Iqbal used to be a patient of his so Dr Masud knows he’s a good man. Iqbal is a bit surprised though that he would be considered a suitable partner for Shazia, the high flying MP. He wonders if Shazia even knows about the introduction. Dr Masud confirms that he hasn’t told her because she’s shy about these matters. Iqbal is suspicious and wonders what on earth they would have in common. Dr Masud assures him they have loads in common. They each have two children and are both single! Nervously Iqbal goes off to pretend to inspect the radiators so Shazia won’t suspect anything. All goes well to begin with as Shazia chats to Iqbal about his daughters and how they are fans of hers. She’s flattered when Iqbal shows an interest in her job and Dr Masud tries to leave them alone getting up to make some tea. Shazia makes him sit down again and goes off to make the tea herself though. While she’s out the room Dr Masud encourages Iqbal to ask Shazia out to dinner when she returns. It’s obvious she likes him or she would have made an excuse to leave by now, she wouldn’t be making him tea. Just then Shazia appears with a tray…and announces she has to go out on urgent constituent business. As she races out the door Iqbal sighs, that will be the excuse Dr Masud was talking about then.
Roopa is keeping a close eye on Aidan to make sure he sticks to his word and stays off the skunk. Despite his assurances that he’s steered clear of temptation Roopa secretly rings round the band to check if Aidan’s stuck to his promise. Later Roopa drags a reluctant Aidan along to meet Vinnie about doing the music for the panto. Roopa’s annoyed that he agreed to come when he obviously isn’t keen. Aidan only agreed to make Roopa happy he protests. Sensing he’s in a mood, Roopa accuses him of smoking weed again. Aidan snaps back that he knows she’s been checking up on him behind his back, did she really think Milo wouldn’t tell him she’d been snooping. If she can’t trust his word then what’s the point!
