Jodie finally gets good news. Someone called Ross called Saffron Rays and told Vinnie he was with Mani in London two days ago. Later Ross tells Mary and Jodie he called Saffron Rays because Mani didn’t turn up to meet him as promised. He remembered the name of the restaurant from his joke about the title of Mani’s autobiography. Ross describes how Mani was confused and how he talked to Stella as if she were still alive and with him. Ross adds that he checked the underground and along the Thames yesterday but there was no sign of Mani anywhere. Ross wishes he could help more but needs to go.
Elsewhere the nurse explains that Mani banged his head but is told he is talking to Stella and to stop interrupting. Mani slips further into unconsciousness. As the medical team desperately try to get Mani to respond he and Stella are reciting vows to one another. Mani gasps and then the nurse announces he has stopped breathing. Mani and Stella are still talking somewhere in his unconscious mind. Stella says she is pregnant but is confused when Mani says this is the happiest day of his life. She remembers it differently. He left her to bring Jodie up alone. The nurse is relieved when Mani starts to respond to CPR.
Jodie starts to fall apart and wonders if all this is her fault. She should have thought about why Mani lied to her instead of just hating him. He had his reasons for leaving Stella to bring Jodie up alone. If only things could go back to how they were back in Silverhill. Mary admits they aren’t any closer to finding him. Maybe they should go home and hope Mani finds them there.
Back at the hospital Mani is remembering when Jodie was first born but Stella is insisting it didn’t happen like this. Mani says this is how it was meant to be. The nurse tells Mani he to open his eyes but Mani says he isn’t coming back. He’s happy here…….
