Kuljit sees he’s had a couple of missed calls and listens to the messages. They are both from Jodie, sick with worry when she thought the police might pull Mani from the canal. Kuljit leaps up and yelling that he’s got to go, he abandons Ranbir at Alton Towers with Sway, Arun and Vinnie.
Jodie is irritated by Fran fussing around her when she’s still so worried about Mani. Then Fran inflames her by accusing Mani of controlling Jodie even when he’s not there. Everything is so black and white for Fran she reckons. Well, Jodie says, life just isn’t like that. She tells Fran that she’s not going to turn her back on her life with Mani and Kuljit, just for the sake of ‘being right’. It seems their lifelong friendship is over. Fran finally concedes defeat and decides its time she moved on then, but first she has to tell Sean.
Sean doesn’t seem too surprised that Fran’s leaving. It pretty much sums up their relationship when she says there’s no point staying. They should have left it at Glastonbury. He says there’s no hard feelings but points out that if it had been the other way around he’d have been seen as a user. Fran’s a little hurt that he thinks of her like that but they part on fairly good terms. Fran says goodbye to Mary who cheers her a little, saying that the truth would have come out eventually even if she hadn’t got involved. Mary reckons Fran had Jodie’s best interests at heart, and that one day Jodie might even thank her.
Kuljit finds Jodie on the barge. She’s pleased to see him and sorry that she pulled him away from his outing. Kuljit couldn’t care less though. Jodie explains that she understands now why he kept quiet, it was because he cares about her. Kuljit tells Jodie he loves her and he wants to help her find Mani. Jodie asks him to stay at the house instead, in case Mani comes home, and by the way she says, ‘I love you too’.
Jodie calls to see Mary to apologise for the way she’s behaved and for not listening to her. She tells Mary she’s going to find her dad, but she needs Mary’s help. Mary doesn’t hesitate … but where do they start?
