Have your say

Pritam and Surinder have decided to go back to Southall after the CD launch party tonight. The time away has been good for them as a couple but it’s time to return home. Pritam tells Simran he and her mum are happy with each other now and strong enough to face the relatives and gossips.

Over at the café Kuljit is getting things ready for the big night. He reckons Pritam and the band sound fantastic considering they haven’t played together for years. Kuls wonders if Jodie might be coming but isn’t surprised when Simran confirms she won’t. Kuls tries to talk about the split and Simran awkwardly suggests he and Jodie might still be OK in time. If Simran’s mum and dad can sort their differences out anyone can! Kuljit spots the guy he’s expecting from the record company and rushes off.

Simran greets Pritam and the dhol play Indy outside the café. The sound of bhangra music starts playing from inside. Pritam and Indy are rooted to the spot with pride until Simran suggests they might want to go inside. Later Kuljit makes a speech about Sataree and tells the crowd to help themselves to signed copies of the ‘Revival’ CD. Simran suggests Indy and Pritam should start mingling. They deserve to enjoy the limelight.

Jaggy and Simran are introduced to Indy who says he knows all about their wedding. It’s been featured on page three of the Southall Gazette today. Jaggy assumes the article has focussed on the fight but Indy says there was no mention of that. It was all about their good friendship with Sandra and Kenny whose son is in prison for a racially motivated attack. A furious Jaggy puts two and two together as he realises exactly why Kenny and Sandra wanted a copy of the wedding photos they are in. It was going to be part of a PR exercise to prove they couldn’t possibly be racist. Jaggy wants to confront them on the phone immediately but Simran tells him to leave it for now. They’ve conned the wrong people and Simran is going to teach them a lesson they won’t forget!
