Dr Masud asks Zak for his opinion on the poem he finished on behalf of Kamal and invites Zak to his next poetry night. Zak says he has been thinking about Kamal a lot lately. Dr Masud then describes a dream he has had about Kamal recently which has left him feeling anxious. In the dream Dr Masud is walking on an English beach seeking shelter when he discovers a walnut tree rooted into the sand. It’s just like the one on his father’s land in Abbotabad. Zak suggests the doctor is missing home but is told it’s more than that.
Zenab is giving Nadia an induction at Jilani stores despite being told Rozena has already done this – twice! Zenab has to admit she is impressed when Nadia tells her this morning she sold twenty-five metres of their most expensive fabric to one customer. Nadia tries to run some ideas past Zenab but is told they can do this another time. Nadia insists Zenab at least look through magazines showing what the elites are wearing in Pakistan. Nadia can create this same look by sewing sequins onto the dresses they already have in stock. Zenab dismisses this reminding Nadia this shop specialises in fabric not off the peg items. Things get worse later when Zenab shoots all of Nadia’s ideas down in flames. Nadia pleads for a chance but Zenab coldly announces she isn’t prepared to sell Nadia’s downmarket imitations in this shop!
Dr Masud continues describing his dream. Kamal was staring at him with no expression. It was very unsettling. Zak wishes they could just know Kamal is safe wherever he is. They are interrupted by Bill’s arrival and Dr Masud decides to get going. Bill furiously waves a newspaper at Zak. There is a small paragraph describing how Talib has got off with a suspended sentence. Zak says they can all move on now and he for one wants to forget about the whole thing. Bill reminds Zak he suffered most from all the pain and trouble that lad caused. Zak should get up and fight for his rights. Zak says Fran said the same thing and admits he has to do something. This is about justice….
