Have your say
Dr Hassan is getting involved in local enterprises straight away, making a start with testing the sheesha pipes for Arun, although Arun doesn’t let on that they are opening a sheesha lounge, he pretends it’s just for a few mates coming round. Dr Hassan’s not sure he should be recommending sheesha but it brings back some good memories, smelling the sheesha tuffah and the music Arun’s playing reminds him of the Cairo cafés he spent his youth in. He gives Arun a few tips in sheesha etiquette then leaves, telling him not to overdo it, he doesn’t want to see him in the surgery!
While Arun organises things upstairs in the flat Vinnie is touting for their first customers down in the restaurant. He soon has a steady stream of people visiting the lounge after they finish their meals. Vinnie pops up to se how things are going and asks Arun to go and get the next group who are just finishing their Kulfis. Arun is enjoying hosting the lounge though and he sends Vinnie back down to carry on rounding up the clients. Vinnie goes back reluctantly, muttering all the way. The sheesha lounge is a big hit on its first night though and Arun and Vinnie are soon planning an Eid special tomorrow.
Dr Masud has an unexpected visitor. He opens the door to Dr Hassan, who introduces himself as the new Doctor. Dr Masud invites him in expecting that Dr Hassan has come for some advice from his predecessor. Dr Hassan has no such intention though. He’s come to tell Dr Masud to leave his patients alone as the mixed advice they are getting is causing problems. Dr Masud knows that Dr Hassan is right and wants to make amends. He makes some tea and invites Dr Hassan to stay for iftari. Dr Hassan starts to refuse as he has some paperwork to catch up on but just then Shazia interrupts them. Dr Hassan seems to like what he sees, because all of a sudden his paperwork is forgotten, and he’d love to stay for a meal!
