Shazia arrives home to find the house full of strangers. She finds her father in his study and asks who they are. Dr Masud ignores her question and cheerfully requests that she sends the next one in, he has three more to get through before Iftari. Shazia demands to know what’s going on and he explains that they are his old patients who are not happy with their new doctor. Shazia is shocked, he could get into real trouble for setting up an unofficial surgery like this. When the last ‘patient’ has gone Shazia tackles her dad. She gently tells him that he can’t carry on doing this. Dr Masud changes the subject though and tells Shazia to get ready, they are going out for dinner with the son of an old friend of his. Shazia refuses point blank; she’s in no mood for a blind date! Dr Masud has another reason for wanting a night out at Saffron Rays as well; he’s heard that the new Doctor will be entertaining his old colleagues there.
Mani is in a bad way, drinking heavily. He leaves a drunken message on Jodie’s answer phone begging her to meet him later.
Fran’s cooked Sean a healthy veggie meal which he enjoys, not even realising that the ‘chicken’ was tofu! Over dinner she tells him the whole story about Jodie and Mani. Sean can’t believe Mani could be so deceitful. A seed of doubt begins to grow in his mind about Fran’s motives. He asks Fran why she came to Silverhill, was it really to see him. Fran’s a bit evasive but assures Sean that she did come to find him. Sean isn’t convinced though and he makes an excuse to go down to the bar to help Brian to get out of Fran’s way. Fran knows he’s upset and follows him down to try and repair things. Mani is in the bar though and he’s very worse for wear. Seeing Fran he accuses her of causing all the trouble with Jodie and a heated argument begins. Sean tries to calm things between them, and still annoyed with Fran he tells her to go back upstairs out of the way. Fran’s furious Sean’s taking Mani’s side but he doesn’t really care. He tells Fran it would be better all round if she just left.
