Have your say
Dr Masud and Mary are going through a short list of potential suitors for Shazia. Mary’s not entirely comfortable short listing without Shazia’s knowledge. Dr Masud thinks it’s a wonderful idea, they’ll find someone perfect and she won’t be able to refuse. Mary has only popped in to get her elbow seen to by Dr Masud as his replacement seemed harassed because the computer was down. Later, Dr Masud reads Kamal’s unfinished poem out to Mary who thinks it’s beautiful.
Sway visits Jodie at the barge. Jodie can’t understand why Mani and Kuljit lied to her. They’ve made her hate herself because she turned her back on her mum thinking she lied to her but she was the only one telling the truth. Sway offers her his shoulder to cry on. Jodie wants to move her things out of Mani’s place. Sway mentions that the place was in darkness so now looks like a good time.
Jodie lets herself in to Mani’s place and switches the lights on. Jodie is shocked when Mani appears out of the dark. He’s been waiting for her, they need to talk, and he needs to explain. Jodie tells him to just get on with his life. Mani convinces himself that Jodie has calmed down and is back but she tells him to get out of her way, she’s leaving.
Mary bumps into Sway who tells her that Nadia is doing really well at Jilani Fashions. She’s adapting Asian suits that aren’t selling by sitting at a sewing machine. They discuss Mani, Mary doesn’t know what’s going on with him but Sway says it’s not his place to say anything.
Mani suggests moving out, it’s Jodie’s home, and she should stay. In his panicky state, he gives her a framed photograph of them when they went to Rhyl. Jodie doesn’t want it and smashes it. She leaves in tears telling Mani it’s his house, his restaurant and his lies.
