Jodie hopes the spa break will help Simran relax. She can tell something is bothering her. Kuljit wonders if Fran will be going with them but Jodie says Fran’s staying to keep an eye on him. Kuljit’s not overjoyed at the prospect but he’s more concerned at the moment about the band that hasn’t turned up at the studio. Jodie asks if he’s worried about the studio, he and Mani sat up talking for hours the other night. Kuljit pretends Mani wanted to look at the books, which amuses Jodie. Her dad’s never been interested in that stuff before.
Mani tries to cheer Vinnie up. He’s been down ever since Mohit’s visit. Vinnie feels whatever he does it’s never good enough for his dad. Mani reassures him that Mohit is proud of him even though he doesn’t show it.
Jodie senses there is something on Kuljit’s mind but he assures her it’s nothing. Jodie wonders if he’s jealous of all the time she spends with Fran. She tells him it was same with him and Sway for her. Kuljit admits that he does miss having her to himself. Just then Mani comes in for some change. Jodie chastises him for walking around with so much cash. She takes it through to the café to get some change. Kuljit’s relieved that Mohit’s gone and has said nothing to Fran but Mani is still jittery. He still doesn’t trust Fran. Kuljit reckons he’s just being paranoid but Mani’s in a terrible state and dashes off before Jodie comes back with his change. Kuljit covers for him, saying Mani had to get back to the restaurant for a meeting he’d forgotten about. Jodie wants to go after him but Kuljit stops her protesting that he’s hardly seen her and as the band still haven’t arrived he’ll be tied up till late now when they finally make it. Jodie relents and says she’ll stay. She passes Kuljit a bunch of messages that Fran just gave her for him. Ranbir’s been trying to get hold of him but Kuljit’s been avoiding his calls after the Mela disaster. Jodie urges him to call Ranbir, he can’t let him down. Ranbir trusts him, and, she says as she kisses him, so does she. With a guilty lump in his throat, Kuljit promises he’ll ring back.
