Sean’s attempts to keep the lads’ exploits in Newquay from his Gran are in vain. Mary gets the whole story from Pete when he rings up about the insurance excess he’s going to have to pay. Sean tries to play it down but Pete has told her all the gory details. Sean goes off to find Zak and Arun to give them the bad news about the money they owe for wrecking the boat. Arun won’t cough up claiming he’s skint but Zak takes responsibility saying he’ll do some extra shifts to pay the claim. Sean wonders if Arun’s getting any grief from Rita and Pradeep about the accident but Arun laughs – Krishan’s taking all the heat still for getting drunk at the Mela. They’ve got his little brother pegged as a trainee alcoholic! Hearing this, Zak feels terrible and decides to find Pradeep to put him straight. When Zak is out of earshot Sean has a go at Arun for being so insensitive.
When Zak finds Pradeep at Saffron Rays he begs him to go easy on Krishan. It was all his fault he protests, just like it was his fault that Arun and Sean could have died in Newquay. Zak is getting more and more distressed, he reckons Zenab was right, he is a bad omen. Fatima died because of him he cries. Pradeep is shocked and tries to comfort Zak; he mustn’t ever think that, it’s just not true.
Mani’s like a cat on hot bricks wondering if Mohit has spilled the beans to Fran. Kuljit tries to calm him, pointing out that if Fran knew anything she wouldn’t have wasted any time in using it against them. He urges Mani to talk to Mohit if he’s so worried. Mani’s worrying has given him a headache so he pops to Brady’s news for some painkillers. Mary’s on her own and is glad of a chat. She tells Mani how smitten Sean is with Fran and asks if he thinks she’ll be around for a while. Just then Kuljit comes in so Mary asks him too. She’s puzzled when they both dodge the question and then Mani rushes off. Mary wonders what’s on his mind. Kuljit assures her Mani’s just fine, but Mary’s known him a long time and she knows that something is up no matter what Kuljit says.
