Mani and Kuljit are keeping an eye on Mohit during the birthday party. As they talk Mohit heads towards them and Kuljit pretends they were discussing the recording studio. Kuls asks if Mohit ever went on tour with Mani. Mohit says he mainly relied on hearing Mani’s stories about them. Mohit adds he thought Mani would eventually settle down with Stella. He was also quite surprised to discover Jodie had forgiven Mani so easily for abandoning her as a child. Kuls reckons they could all do with another drink!
Jodie and Fran are labelling the vegetarian food at the buffet table. Mani comes over for more wine but whisks Mohit away when he starts getting into a conversation about Mani’s reckless past. Fran wonders if Jodie gets bothered by all the colourful stories about her dad. Jodie says not anymore. Later Mohit tells Fran he and Mani have no secrets from one another. Fran insists there must be some but Mohit denies this. Mani steers Mohit away again. Fran knows Mani is keeping Mohit away from her for some reason. And she knows Kuljit is on edge around her. So what is it with all of them? Kuls says its obvious Fran doesn’t like him. Fran insists this is about her best friend Jodie being stuck in a life she didn’t plan for herself. Kuls insists Jodie is happy here leading Fran to say if that’s true Kuls has nothing to worry about. They are interrupted by Jodie. Kuls says he was asking Fran how long she might stick around here. Fran says it could be quite a while.
Mohit is getting drunk and Kuls tells Mani there’s nothing like alcohol to loosen the tongue. Mani makes his speech and then realises Mohit has disappeared. Fran tells him Mohit kept her company outside while she had a cigarette. She suggests he likes to talk but tells Mani it’s nothing he doesn’t already know. When Fran leaves Kuljit tells Mani if Fran’s smirking is anything to go by Mohit has confirmed her suspicions. Mani says they’ll both be history if Jodie finds out and Kuls needs to do whatever it takes to get Fran to leave Silverhill - fast….
