Arun doesn’t understand why Vinnie is going to such lengths to clean the flat when Mohit is staying with Mani. Vinnie says his dad will want to have a snoop around here and doesn’t need more ammunition than he already has. Vinnie asks Arun to help but Arun reckons he’ll only do it in exchange for more driving lessons. Vinnie says nothing will convince him to do that again!
Mani phones Mohit to subtly dissuade him from coming. Mohit is surprised as he was told his visit was a surprise. Mani pretends to have overhead Jodie and Kuljit talking. Mohit is already on his way to Silver Street. Mani realises he is too late and says he didn’t want a fuss that’s all. He asks Mohit to pretend the visit is still a surprise as he doesn’t want to upset Jodie. Later Mani thanks Jodie for arranging his party and she tells him how angry she feels when she thinks of how many birthdays they didn’t spend together. Mani insists Stella had her reasons for not telling him Jodie existed. They are interrupted by the doorbell. It’s Vinnie who wants to know if his dad is here yet. Jodie reminds him Mani doesn’t know Mohit is coming so they need an excuse as to why Vinnie here. Vinnie pretends he is here to borrow the vacuum cleaner.
The doorbell rings again and Jodie suggests Mani answer this time. Mani lets Mohit in and is a bit over the top in his feigned surprise. Jodie realises Mani knew Mohit was coming all along and guesses it was Vinnie who told him. Mani says it doesn’t matter – the important thing is seeing Mohit again Vinnie tells his dad he moved out a few weeks ago so he could be more independent. Mohit doesn’t think Vinnie is ready for that especially after the mess he made of their takings in Glastonbury. Mani steps in to defend Vinnie saying he has done a fantastic job at Saffron Rays. Mohit then announces he will be staying with Vinnie rather than Mani. Vinnie heads off to phone Arun. He pleads for Arun to give his room to Mohit as there’s no way Vinnie is sharing a bed with his dad. Arun wonders what its worth. Some driving lessons perhaps?
