Fran watches the fashion parade with Jodie, sneering at the ridiculously high heels the models are wearing. Jodie hushes her as she sees Rozena listening. The Jilanis donated the fashions she hisses. It’s not Fran’s scene, she’d rather go to the poetry tent. But when Jodie tells her that was all Mani’s idea Fran blurts out is there anything Mani can’t do! Everyone seems to think he’s some kind of superhero. Jodie’s shocked at her reaction; maybe Fran should realise that Mani’s not such a bad guy after all. Fran changes the subject and tells Jodie she can’t stay at the Akhtars’ while Sean’s away in Newquay; Nadia her foot down. Jodie reckons Nadia’s out of order but insists that Fran should come and stay at Mani’s. That doesn’t appeal to Fran at all though. Then Jodie has a brainwave. Fran can move onto the barge! Fran cheers up immediately; that would be perfect.
In the Shairi Tent Mani introduces the next poem announcing the writer wishes to remain anonymous but Shazia knows exactly who the author is. She urges Dr Masud that it’s not too late to recite it himself. He doesn’t think he can but as Mani begins Dr Masud stands and asks him to wait. He makes his way to the front and as he begins to recite the moving words Shazia is overcome with emotion and leaves the tent in tears. Brian finds her and asks if someone’s been hassling her. She explains it’s nothing like that; everything will be fine when she moves in with her dad. Brian’s surprised; shouldn’t she be making a life for herself, going out and dating? Shazia laughs; she’s tried that already. Brian guesses that the man in question was married but doesn’t know she’s talking about Mushtaq. Just then Dr Masud emerges from the tent looking for her. She tells her dad how moving his poem was and she can’t wait to hear some more when they get home. She announces that she’s moving in with him. Dr Masud thinks she feels sorry for him and tells Shazia he doesn’t need a carer. Shazia pleads with her dad, she hardly sees her boys these days and she can’t face living alone anymore…she’s lonely. Dr Masud takes her in his arms. He didn’t realise she felt like that; his house will always be her home. He hugs her as he welcomes her home.
