Dr Masud is trying to avoid Mani, but Mani chases him down the street till he catches up with his friend. Dr Masud is fed up with Mani badgering him to perform at the mela. Mani tries to talk him round, describing the tent he’s organised but Dr Masud won’t budge. He won’t even let Mani get someone else to perform his Shairi, they are too personal.
Nadia’s not happy with the way Fran is making herself at home at her mum and dad’s place. She moans to Zak that she acts as if she owns the place. Zak reckons she’s jealous that someone else is looking out for him. Nadia protests that’s not true, she’s happy for him to get all the support he needs. She tells him the Imam was asking after him yesterday, because he hasn’t been to mosque for a while. Zak looks uncomfortable and explains he’s been praying at home instead.
Shazia calls at Saffron Rays for a takeaway for her and her dad. Mani says he thinks Wahid is cross with him for trying to get him to perform his poetry. Shazia tells Mani not to worry, her dad can be a bit of a grumpy old man at times! Although, she has been concerned about him since his retirement.
Meanwhile Zak calls on Dr Masud to show him Kamal’s letter. Dr Masud is delighted to hear from him and tells Zak about his experience with the con man claiming to be a friend of Kamal’s. Zak could be a target too. Dr Masud asks Zak how he’s coping and tells him his faith will help him through it. Zak’s not sure that’s the answer for him anymore though. Shazia arrives with the takeaway and invites Zak to join them. She sets off to get some plates but Dr Masud stops her, huffing that he can get his own plates from his own kitchen. When he’s gone Shazia tells Zak he’s been like this since she suggested moving in with him. He just doesn’t know what’s best for him. Well Shazia does, and she’s moving in with him whether he likes it or not!
