Have your say
Aidan wakes Roopa who has had a bad night sleeping on the floor. Aidan asks if she wouldn’t mind going out to get breakfast, he’s got a terrible hangover.
In the café, Roopa meets Cat who is the singer from the second support band. She offers to buy Roopa breakfast, the lads can wait for theirs. Roopa refuses at first but the full breakfast looks tempting. Roopa tells Cat that they enjoyed her set. Cat says they had a nightmare with the amps but who cares as people only wanted to see the main act. Cat reckons Roopa’s set had loads of energy, Roopa thinks she’s being polite but Cat reassures her she was watching from the crowd and it was good.’
Aidan takes a bite of his breakfast and grabs the water, Roopa asks if it’s too spicy for him and maybe next time, they can get it themselves.
At the venue in Sheffield, Roopa runs towards the lead singer of the main act. He thinks she’s a groupie but when Roopa explains that she’s in the support band that’s on before Cat’s band, he knows that a hot girl like her will definitely attract the punters. He gives Roopa some advice, when he started off, he was busking and being in a band is hard slog so she’ll need a lot of determination.
Roopa notices people in the crowd from Manchester and can’t believe that they’ve got fans. The gig is a success and Aidan can’t believe how well Roopa worked the crowd. A journalist enters and breaks up their chat. He compliments Roopa, she’s not a poseur, she’s the real deal, a natural and she appears so comfortable on stage, Aidan pipes in that the whole band are comfortable on stage too. Tim switches his Dictaphone on to record the interview and when Roopa sends Aidan to the bar for drinks, he agrees, he doesn’t want to interrupt anything.
