Kuljit and Ranbir are discussing names for the music stall at the mela and finally come up with Café Vibes. They can put up posters and hold a competition for performers. Kuljit reckons the college music technology group might lend a hand. The college has already offered to pay for using the studio facilities and they need all the revenue they can get. Ranbir asks if Kuljit is still coming to see his Gran with him. Kuljit says he is but there are a couple of things to do first. Ranbir rushes off to start drawing some posters.
Elsewhere Sway thanks Mani for letting him posters up at Saffron Rays. Mani wonders if the noise issue has been resolved. Sway says he has come to an agreement with Pradeep but its not easy keeping everyone happy. And the lead flashing on the leisure centre roof has been stolen which means less money to spend on the mela. Sway had to cancel a couple of the bigger entertainment acts. Mani comes up with an idea. Saffron Rays can provide free food for the dignitaries on the day so Sway doesn’t have to pay for a caterer. Sway tries to protest but Mani they start making a list. Sway tells Mani they have some spare space on the main stage and he’d be honoured if Mani would perform his tabla playing for the older crowd. Mani reckons they should add some live poetry recitals to the agenda too?
Granny Basant fusses over Ranbir. She worries that the home might be making him eat meat and explains to Kuljit that this would be against their religious beliefs. Ranbir says he usually eats at Kuljit’s place and his wife is vegetarian. Ranbir then heads outside to play basketball. A tearful Basant tells Kuljit how she worries about Ranbir’s schoolwork being affected by his troubled childhood. Kuljit assures her they’ll soon have Ranbir back on track. Later Ranbir lies again saying Kuljit has taken him to the temple a couple of times. Once they leave Kuljit demands to know why. And why did Ranbir pretend Kuljit and Jodie are married? Ranbir reckons if Basant knew the truth she might stop Ranbir from seeing Kuljit and he isn’t willing to take that chance….
