In New York, Jas listens to her messages. She sighs as she hears Vinnie’s voice asking where he stands, knowing she’s going to have to make a difficult call soon. We hear a male voice calling her back to bed. She’s stayed overnight with her colleague, Greg because she missed her last train home. They were working late into the night on a presentation they have to give today. Jas is all set to dash home to get changed but Greg has other plans. He takes Jas to a dry cleaners and finds the owner, Mrs Shin. His flattery is wasted on the fierce Chinese lady but she is more responsive to the fifty dollars he waves at her. Within minutes they leave the store with a snazzy designer suit for Jas that has been abandoned at the cleaners.
Kamla marvels at all the flags in the street for Independence Day. Ambika comes in and wrinkles her nose at the cooking smells. It smells like Bombay she tells Kamla. Kamla ignores her, determined to convert the children to Indian food. Ambika picks up the leaflets about Broadway musicals that Kamla’s left strategically placed. Ambika dislikes that kind of show and suggests Kamla gets Suresh to take her. In fact Ambika doesn’t seem keen to take Kamla anywhere.
Ambika phones Suresh to remind him his daughter Nilu has her ballet exam later. She knows from experience that he’ll get busy and forget to call her otherwise. She nags him to take Kamla to Broadway but Suresh is distracted by a knock at the door and quickly dismisses Ambika as a pretty employee, Cindy, enters the office.
Later, Jas and Greg wait patiently to see Suresh to go over the presentation they’ve worked so hard on. Suresh calls them both in to deliver a blow. After all their hard work he is passing the account on to Cindy. He’s got a new project for them. Jas is incensed but Greg doesn’t seem at all surprised by the decision. Outside Jas lays into him for just rolling over and letting Suresh hand it over to Cindy. But Greg has seen it all before and Cindy has two great big advantages over them, and he’s reckons they’re definitely surgically enhanced! Jas is open mouthed, is Greg suggesting that her Uncle Suresh is having a fling with Cindy?
