Krishan’s hanging around at Pumpworks again and Jodie wonders why he wouldn’t rather be out with his mates. Krishan tells her they’re all so immature that he’s out grown them. Laughing, Jodie offers him some carrot cake as he seems to be fascinated by it. As she takes the cover off the cake Jodie notices a beautiful necklace next to it. She’s delighted, thinking Kuljit has put it there as a surprise gift. She puts it on and Krishan tells her she looks amazing in it, better than Marilyn Monroe in ‘Some like it hot’. This is one of Jodie’s favourite films and she launches into ‘I wanna be loved by you’ just for Krishan.
Nadia’s shopping for a birthday present for Pervaiz when she bumps into Simran. She’s dreading the coroner’s inquest tomorrow and is glad of the distraction when Simran suggests a coffee. She tells Simran how difficult it’s been back at home. It’s hard being away from Sway and having Fatima’s parents there. She says they will be leaving after the inquest but she’s not sure if she’ll move straight back in with Sway. She’s not kidding herself that her parents will ever accept Sway but spending a bit more time with them might help. Simran sympathises with her, it took her and Jaggy getting engaged to repair her relationship with her Dad. Nadia doesn’t think that would do the trick with her folks!
Jodie has a permanent smile on her face and Roopa wants to know what Kuljit’s done to put her in such a good mood. Jodie shows her the necklace and tells her about all the little surprises. Roopa loves the necklace and exclaims that she has one just like it! She wonders if Kuls is leading up to something with all these romantic gestures, maybe he’s going to propose! No way says Jodie, but stranger things have happened. Then Roopa notices the bracelet that Jodie thinks Kuljit gave her and recognises it immediately. It belongs to her mum and Rita’s been looking for it everywhere! Jodie can’t believe it but Roopa shows her the Hindi inscription on the pendant, it’s her mum’s name. And the necklace that’s just like Roopa’s…it is Roopa’s. So where did Kuls get their jewellery from?
