Dr Masud is waiting to be seen at the Police Station but Talib wants a word. Talib wants Dr Masud to tell the police officers that he gave them the money but had no idea what it was for. Dr Masud wants to know why he should lie. Talib has already told the police that’s what happened because he doesn’t want Zak getting charged for passport fraud after everything he’s been through with losing his wife. Dr Masud understands why Talib is doing it for Zak but isn’t he going to help himself? Talib says the whole thing was his idea in the first place but Dr Masud insists on sharing the punishment. A desperate Talib thinks it’s the only way Zak will get off and besides, he’s lied already now so he can’t change his story, it would just make things worse for him. Dr Masud reluctantly agrees only to help Zak.
Talib is back in the interview room and tells the police everything again even before they have a chance to speak. They remind him that they already know everything and let him go so that they can speak to Dr Masud and Zak.
Khatija tells Pervaiz that the garage has called telling Zak not to hurry back but it’s made her think, maybe they should all go to Mirpur. They should never have come to this country, look at what’s happened to their Zak, he’s being accused of something he didn’t do and he’s lost his wife, hasn’t he been through enough already.
Dr Masud is cautioned and so is Zak. The Inspector also offers his sympathies to Zak for losing his wife and to be careful of the kind of friends he makes in the future. Meanwhile Dr Masud splashes his face with water and tells Officer Kent that he’s relieved knowing the boys have been let off. Officer Kent reveals Zak is out but Talib will appear in court at a later date. Dr Masud guesses at least Shazia will sleep at night even if he won’t.
