Shazia is running her surgery for constituents and apologises to her next appointment for all the press commotion in reception. They just don’t understand that Shazia isn’t prepared to answer their questions. Shazia adds she supposes they are just doing their job. Sally says she’s here to complain about the smell from the City farm but it’s soon apparent that she’s a journalist. Sally wants to know if Shazia was aware her father financed an illegal passport. And did Dr Masud know what he was paying for? Shazia tells Sally it’s time she left. These sessions are for genuine constituents not journalists!
Arun is at the job centre looking for something that means he won’t have to work for his dad at Saffron Rays. Arun sees his old school friend Rich who offers to help but it’s not easy with Arun turning his nose up at pretty much everything. Rich reckons working here isn’t so bad but Arun wouldn’t get something like this until he gains some office experience. Arun starts to think working at Saffron Rays might not be such a bad idea after all.
Vinnie isn’t pleased when Arun turns up late for his first shift. He needn’t think he is getting an easy ride and will have to work as hard as everyone else. Arun asks Vinnie to talk him through the menus so he can get on with it when the customers arrive. Vinnie says Arun has got the wrong end of the stick. He will be replacing Ali in the kitchen and that means chopping vegetables, doing dishes and general cleaning. Arun isn’t happy but Vinnie gives him his first job and he’ll need to put an apron on!
Elsewhere Shazia tells Dr Masud he needs to get his story straight but he refuses to bend the truth. Shazia reminds him the journalists aren’t going to go away. They need to say that Dr Masud didn’t know what he was paying for. Dr Masud can’t believe what Shazia is suggesting. The system let Kamal down and that’s why the doctor got him a fake passport. If Shazia wants to give any other statement to the press she is on her own…..
