Have your say

Arun’s doing a session but his heart’s not really in it. He points out a couple of girls to Sean but he’s not in the mood either. Both have their minds on what’s happened to Zak and Fatima. Sean wonders if they could help convince the police that Zak hasn’t done anything. Arun reckons the police won’t listen to them; and anyway, maybe Talib has got Zak involved in something! Roopa tells them she went to see Fatima in hospital earlier, it was horrible to see her like that. Arun wonders why she ran when she saw the police. Sean points out that she was running towards them, not away from them. Arun’s still not convinced; maybe she was afraid of what they’d find in the house. Sean can’t believe that Zak was involved in anything dodgy. He points out that the police do make mistakes sometimes. Arun grudgingly agrees but he’s still convinced that Talib has been up to something. Roopa can’t believe her brother can be so cold about it all. She storms off upset followed by Sean. He finds her crying in the ladies; she hasn’t known Fatima long but Roopa really liked her and is desperately worried about her.

Fatima’s mother arrives and she’s at Fatima’s bedside when Khatija comes in. She introduces herself as Zak’s mother. Firdos is immediately suspicious of her. She can’t understand why her daughter rushed into this marriage. Zak must have taken advantage of her. She demands to know why the police have arrested him. Khatija is horrified that she knows and shouts that it’s all because of Talib; Fatima’s friend. Firdos angrily asks what she’s suggesting. A nurse hears their raised voices and orders them out of the ward, this won’t help Fatima. Outside, Khatija apologises to Firdos but Fatima’s mother is still angry. Khatija’s son may be in a police cell but her daughter might have brain damage and might never be the same again. It’s not really Khatija she’s angry with though and Khatija knows it. She tells Firdos that their children have brought them together. They are sisters now so they must both come and stay with her and Pervaiz. Firdos is touched by her offer and breaks down in tears as Khatija hugs her tightly.
