Sway tries to comfort Nadia who’s anxiously awaiting a call from Zak or the hospital. Her mobile beeps and she checks it quickly. It’s a text from Roopa saying she’s just seen Khatija and Pervaiz arriving in a taxi. She sets off to meet them at home on her own. She urges Sway to go to the hospital to see if there’s any news.
Pervaiz and Khatija survey the damage the police did during the raid. Khatija is upset to see her Qur’an discarded on the floor. Nadia wishes she’d cleared up before they arrived. Her mum and dad immediately blame her for not keeping an eye on Zak. Nadia tries to calm them both down, reminding them that Fatima is the most important thing to worry about now.
Sway bumps into Bill at the hospital. He’s also hoping for news of Fatima. Just then Nadia arrives with her parents. Khatija spots Sway and yells at him to keep away as they bustle into the ward. Bill misunderstands and thinks it’s him she’s angry with. Sway tells him they probably don’t even know he was driving the car that hit her; anyway, no-one’s blaming him. Bill’s not so sure though.
Nadia and her parents sit by the bed, upset to see Fatima lying bruised and unconscious. Nadia goes off to speak to a doctor while Khatija goes off to say a prayer for Fatima, leaving Pervaiz to talk to his new daughter in law. He tells her softly as soon as she is better they’ll have the walima he promised.
Fatima’s father arrives at the hospital but can’t find out what room she is in. Passing, Nadia overhears him speaking to a nurse and realises who he is. She explains she’s Zak’s sister and takes him to Fatima’s ward. She introduces him to her parents but not even hearing the introductions he rushes straight to Fatima’s side. He’s devastated to see his beautiful daughter lying there lifeless. He asks where Zak is. Khatija explains he’ll be there as soon as he can; not wanting to admit that he’s being questioned by the police. Jamil isn’t really listening anyway as he gently tells Fatima that everything will be ok before he breaks down and sobs.
