Aidan’s band set up for their gig at Pumpworks. Arun doesn’t help Roopa’s nerves before her big debut when he tells her she looks desperate with her big hair and glitter. Aidan thinks she looks stunning though and Roopa’s far more interested in his opinion. When the band start to play, the reaction is lukewarm to begin with. Kuljit reckons their stuff is a bit dated. Just then Aidan introduces their guest vocalist for the night, Roopa Chauhan. Roopa runs onto the stage and the band launch into their own version of ‘Jaane jaan dhoonta’. As the crowd get into it they start to whistle and cheer. Roopa is going down a storm and even Arun is amazed by how good his little sister is.
Bill wants to cheer Mary up as she’s been a bit down since Pete left. She admits it’s not just Pete leaving that’s upset her. Kamla’s gone too, and before long it’ll be Sean as well. Mary feels she’s been left behind with just her memories; Silverhill has changed so much. Bill manages to persuade her to come out for a meal to get her away from the pub where all those memories are. As they walk past the café they hear Roopa singing and Mary remarks that she sounds fantastic. Bill suggests they go in but Mary says it’ll be full of kids. As they walk on to the restaurant Bill tentatively suggests that maybe it’s time they moved away from Mary’s past, and the Golden Crown. Why don’t they move into his house and have a fresh start? Mary is taken aback but Bill reassures she wouldn’t have to sell up. She could still run the pub, they just don’t have to live there as well. Mary agrees to give it some thought.
After the set, Kuljit rushes over to congratulate the band. Everyone is gushing about how good Roopa was, including Arun. Loving it, Roopa laps up the attention leaving Aidan wondering just whose band it is now!
