Brian’s amused by Pete’s new venture, running a surf shop in Cornwall. Deep down though he knows it will be good for his nephew to get away and wishes him luck. Mary’s worried that she’s held Pete back from getting on with his own life. Pete reassures her that he stayed because he wanted to. Later they get out the photo albums and all reminisce about ancient family holidays. They laugh at the ridiculous haircuts and fashions from years ago. Pete spots a nice picture of all the family together and asks if he can take it. Mary wants to keep it though; she feels like the photos are all she has left of her family now. Seeing she’s upset Pete leaves it and Sean starts to tease him about his new job to lighten the mood. They go off to have a last game of pool, leaving Mary alone with her photos.
Zenab’s worried about Rozena and goes to see Rita to see if she’s confided in her. Rita hasn’t been able to get through to Rozena either she admits. When she phoned Rita felt like Rozena just wanted to get rid of her. Zenab can’t bear to think of her daughter going through this all alone. Rita reminds her that she isn’t alone, she has Sameer. Zenab tells Rita that she and Mushtaq are devastated too and that they should be pulling together as a family. Rita advises her to give them more time.
Pete slaughters Sean at pool but Sean reckons he let his uncle win as a goodbye gesture. Before he leaves Pete tells Sean he’s proud of the way he handled all the Siobhan and Jai business. He wants Sean to know that he won’t be far away and he’ll always be there for him. Sean’s thinking of taking up Suresh on his offer though so he tells Pete he maybe further away than he thinks. Mary, Brian and Bill come down to wave Pete off. As he gets into the cab Brian hands him the photo he wanted. Mary smiles as he takes it. She’s got plenty more she says. As the taxi drives off Brian calls after Pete; there’s some prime property in Cornwall, he may be down soon to take a look.
