Pradeep has prepared dinner for Rita’s birthday. Rita asks how he managed to get them the house to themselves. Pradeep admits he gave Arun cash to go to a concert but the others had plans anyway. Pradeep gives Rita her main present of underwear and teases her about going all shy. He is just about to give her an envelope when Arun and Sean turn up saying their concert was cancelled. Pradeep says they are having dinner but the hint is lost on Arun who says that’s great because he is starving!
Over at the café Krishan is doing his homework but Jas keeps interrupting him. Krishan tells Jodie he can’t work at home because Pradeep and Rita are having a romantic dinner. Jodie asks if there is a special lady in Krishan’s life – maybe someone from school. Krishan says no but Jodie says she recognises that wide-eyed look. Women just know these things. Later Jas joins them as Jodie recalls her first crush. Krishan finally admits there is someone he likes and she is easy to talk to. Jodie says she’s a lucky girl whoever she is but Jas suggests she doesn’t really exist.
Sean follows Rita into the kitchen and asks if she might be willing to talk to Siobhan on the phone. He knows Rita is avoiding her calls. They are interrupted by Pradeep who tells Rita he is not having her dishing out food on her birthday. They are going out instead. Arun will just have to fend for himself. On her way out Rita promises Sean she’ll talk to Siobhan soon.
Rita and Pradeep enjoy some peace and quiet in the park. Pradeep managed to smuggle their dessert out before Arun got to it. He also gives Rita the envelope with her other present in it. Rita is touched when she discovers he has named a star after her. They discuss how lucky they are to have each other and the children. Rita suddenly realises she isn’t ready to forgive Siobhan for nearly taking all this away from them. Pradeep says she could never do that…..
