Roopa’s decorated the portacabin with candles to make it cosy. She and Aidan cuddle up on the old sofa, kissing. Aidan pulls away and asks her again if it’s what she really wants before they go too far. Roopa assures him that she’s ready. She pulls him towards her and they make love for the first time in their little love nest. Afterwards they hold each other close just happy to be together.
Rita and Pradeep check on the animals at the City Farm. It’s cold so Rita’s brought a flask of tea. Meanwhile in the portacabin Aidan tickles Roopa and she screams out loud. Rita and Pradeep hear the scream but Pradeep reckons it must be a fox. They snuggle up under the stars but there’s another scream, and this time it’s unmistakably human and coming from the direction of the portacabin. Pradeep leaps up to investigate. Roopa and Aidan hear footsteps outside and blow out the candles. To Roopa’s horror she hears her mum and dad’s voices. Luckily though Pradeep hasn’t got keys and seeing nothing wrong they wander away again. Roopa breathes a sigh of relief. That would have been a great way to formally introduce Aidan to her parents!
At the hospital Rozena cries as she prepares to go home. Sameer helps her and asks if she feels ok. She sobs as she replies that she can’t feel anything, nothing at all. Later, back at the apartment Rozena lies silently in bed feeling numb. Sameer doesn’t know what to do to help her. Choked he wonders if he should ring their parents. Rozena is grateful; she can’t face it. But she asks him to wait until the morning; they’ll be asleep now. She’s worried they’ll be disappointed and that she’s let them down. Sameer protests that it’s not her fault, it’s no-one’s fault. Like the doctor said, these things just happen sometimes. Rozena sighs and wonders to herself, why did it have to happen to her?
