Simran’s mum looks like being a permanent fixture from now until the wedding. So Jaggy’s ‘working late’ a lot and poor Simran’s having to put up with her and run a business at the same time. As Simran shows Katie fabric samples she sends Surinder off on various errands to shut her up before she tells Katie Simran’s life story; warts and all!
Sean wants to invite the Chauhans to the Crown’s St Patrick’s Day party but Brian isn’t keen. He refuses to phone Pradeep but when Sean suggests he rings Rita instead he relents…as long as Sean rings Siobhan.
Zak bumps into Kamal and they greet each other awkwardly. Kamal is really sorry that Zak went to so much trouble to get the passport, but he hasn’t changed his mind. Zak begs him to reconsider but Kamal is adamant. Zak sighs and gives in but before he hurries off to the salon he tells Kamal that he and Fatima will be having their Nikah next week. He asks Kamal if he’d be his witness at the ceremony, after all Kamal is the nearest thing he has to a brother. Kamal is incredibly touched and says he’d be honoured. He suddenly realises how much it would mean to Zak to help him, so he tells him he’ll sort out his passport pictures.
Rita tells Rozena about Brian’s invitation and notices all the shopping bags her friend is carrying. Rozena shows her a couple of tops but to her embarrassment, Rita digs to the bottom of the bag to uncover loads of baby clothes.
Zak has a favour to ask of Simran. She’s surprised to hear he’s getting married so suddenly but tells him she’ll help with any of the arrangements. Zak confesses it’s going to be really low budget but there’s one thing he wants to do for Fatima. He wants to surprise her with a new outfit for the Nikah but he needs Simran’s help to find out what she’d like. Simran thinks that’s a lovely thought and tells Zak to send her round. She’ll do some subtle digging and as a wedding present she’ll throw in her hair and make up for free.
