Aidan calls at the café but is surprised to see Roopa’s still got customers. It’s past closing time but Roopa can’t chuck Zak and Fatima out. They look so in love! She tells Aidan she’ll give them a hint soon. He doesn’t want to wait though and leaves Roopa to it saying he’ll be back later.
Fatima senses something is wrong and asks Zak why he’s so down. He doesn’t want to tell her but she keeps on until he confesses that he can’t afford a fancy wedding. Fatima allays his fears straightaway and tells him all she wants is a true Nikah, just the two of them. She can’t wait for them to start the next stage of their lives together. The pair become aware that Roopa’s clearing up is getting louder so they take the hint, finish off their coffees and head home.
Back at the Akhtars Zak asks Fatima if she’s thought about a date for the Nikah. She jokes that she was thinking about taking him. Zak laughs but he really wants to settle this and suggests next Friday. He’s surprised when she agrees straightaway and tells him she already has an outfit…that she wore for her cousin’s wedding. They decide to ask Talib and Kamal to be witnesses, that’s if Kamal hasn’t left for Pakistan by then! Tentatively, Fatima asks Zak if he’d like to see her without her headscarf before they get married as they are alone. Zak assures her he doesn’t need to, he knows exactly who he’s marrying and it has nothing to do with a headscarf.
Jaggy’s getting ready to go out but Simran stops him. Before he goes anywhere he needs to ring his parents about their engagement. He agrees under protest when Simran says she’ll phone hers at the same time and they dial together. Both sets of parents are over the moon that they are finally tying the knot and want to know all the details. When Jaggy and Simran finally come off the phone they both collapse on the bed exhausted.
Alone at last Aidan and Roopa make the most of the empty café and are soon snogging passionately. They start to pull each others clothes off as they writhe around together on the floor. Until suddenly Roopa stops and pulls away, she can’t do this, not now, not here…
