Morale is low at Silverhill Rangers now Liam’s gone. Kenny tells Mushtaq they need a big signing to boost them. He’s got his eye on a couple of players but Mushtaq nearly chokes when he hears how much they would cost. Kenny warns Mushtaq he needs to find an emergency cash injection before they sink.
Rozena has secretly arranged a meeting with the Council to try and salvage Mushtaq’s investment. She proposes they sell off the ground for development to raise capital. She assures the Councillor they will build a new ground with good leisure facilities for the community. Rozena has no such intention though; she just needs the Council to lift a covenant so she can put her plan in action. The Councillor believes her promise though and agrees to support her proposal.
Meanwhile at the club Mushtaq is at the end of his tether. He’s getting abuse from fans and doesn’t know which way to turn. Just then Jaggy arrives offering support. He tells Mushtaq that throwing money at the team isn’t the only way. If Mushtaq gives him authority over coaching they can turn the team around.
Rozena finally tracks down her dad and triumphantly announces she’s found a way to save the club but Mushtaq just shakes his head; it’s too late. He’s going to have to sell the shop. Rozena tells him about her meeting but Mushtaq protests they can’t sell the ground. It’s the heart and history of the club. If they sell it he’ll be hated forever! But Rozena insists, it’s the only way to save themselves now.
Mushtaq and Zenab prepare for the press conference. Mushtaq is nervous about making his announcement. Zenab is worried that the club is filling up with angry fans who’ve heard rumours that Mushtaq is selling off their beloved ground. Jaggy arrives and joins Rozena. She doesn’t make him welcome though; all the tension between him and Kenny has caused lots of stress for Mushtaq. Jaggy apologises promising that they’ll pull together from now on. Just then Kenny arrives and asks Rozena which player Mushtaq signed in the end. Rozena puts him straight; they haven’t signed anyone – and they are selling the ground. Kenny takes a sharp intake of breath and sits back to watch the certain fireworks as Mushtaq steps up to address the waiting crowd.
