Suresh reacquaints himself with some old haunts with Jas for company. He feels they have a lot in common both being the eldest; all the pressure, expectation and responsibility. He tells Jas how he used to sneak away to the pub and Mary would find him a quiet place to study. Jas takes Suresh to Pumpworks to show him where she works and tells him about the studio and the music sessions. Suresh is impressed by how much the area has come on. He laughs when she shows him her narrow-boat and invites him aboard. He looks at his confident niece and tells her how proud he is of her.
Later Suresh phones home to reassure Kamla that all is well. Kamla misses them all and checks that Suresh has given Mary the present she sent with him. Kamla tentatively asks if there is any word of Jai but Suresh tells her not to worry about him.
