Arun, Jas and Krishan struggle to close Roopa’s suitcase. How much has she bought? Roopa’s noted that their parents slept in separate bedrooms last night but Krishan is delighted that they are at least talking to each other more. Arun tells Roopa to borrow their Uncles’ suitcase. Roopa’s delighted, she can buy more things now. Arun warns her, they’ll get charged with excess baggage, Roopa’s solution is to dump Krishan then!
Kamla tells Suresh and Ambika that she’d like to stay in India. Ambika reckons she’ll feel lonely as they are away often but Kamla disagrees, the place has a good feel and besides, she can oversee the building works. Suresh is pleased that she’ll be staying but Ambika is seething.
Rita reckons Ambika and Kamla won’t get on, has she made the right decision? Pradeep suggests they should visit again soon and see the sights. Rita gets tearful and tells him to move back in. The kids miss him and now that Kamla won’t be going back with them, the house will feel so empty.
Ambika rants at Suresh, Kamla will take over the house. Suresh doesn’t like her selfishness, it is his duty to look after his mother, his sister and brother-in-law have been doing his job for him whilst he pursued a career. Pradeep and Rita need a break for their marriage to heal but Ambika wonders about their marriage? Suresh reminds her they have a great marriage, 2 lovely kids and 2 homes, besides New York is their main home so she won’t see much of Kamla anyway. He owes her comfort in her old age.
Kamla drops the bombshell to the kids. She wants to stay there, maybe permanently. India is her home. Roopa gets tearful and Jas thinks she’s not thought it through.
Pradeep asks Kamla if her decision is because of him, he thinks of her as his mother. She is touched and admits she has been harsh on him sometimes. She is excited and besides she can keep an eye on Suresh’s wife!
Rita feels like she’s failed her mum but Kamla tells her she’s the best daughter a mother could have. As they all leave, Krishan and Roopa are in tears and shout out they will miss her. As the car drives away, she says she will miss them too.
