Have your say

Pradeep, Rita and the kids have arrived in the village and are having a look around. Rita tries not to sound surprised to see all the mud huts, and is concerned about encountering wild animals. Pradeep jokes about tigers lurking around, but reassures her there’s nothing to worry about. Later, Pradeep tells Rita that they’re going to have to share a room, so’s not to upset anyone. She says that’s ok, and that it’s great to finally visit the village she’s heard so much about. Pradeep talks about his memories of his parents and says it’s strange being there without them, and wishes they could have met the children. Rita tells him he seems to be happy there, she hopes he won’t want to stay behind.

Roopa helps her cousin Neyha draw water from the well. They chat about their parents and what they got up to when they were younger. Roopa’s amazed that her cousin can carry the water on her head, and as they return she asks if she gets bored being in the village. Neyha tells her the city’s too manic for her and she loves being there sleeping under the stars.

Pradeep decides to have a go at ploughing a field with a buffalo. The kids think this is hilarious, but Pradeep makes them join in, which Krishan really enjoys. They all realise why Pradeep’s so obsessed with the city farm – he’s a farmer at heart.

In the evening, Arun chats with his cousin Ashvin. They’re the same age but Ashvin’s married with a child and responsibilities – Arun tells him he’s not ready for that yet. Ashvin tells him how much Pradeep’s Mother missed him, and that he was a hero in the village. They suddenly hear screams coming from the bathroom!

Pradeep rushes to Rita’s rescue – there’s a huge snake in the bathroom. Pradeep hits it a few times with a stick and it slithers away. Rita’s ashamed of herself for screaming but is grateful for Pradeep’s help. Later, Pradeep and Rita visit the temple. Pradeep tells Rita he’s sad to have missed out on so much with his family, and that he was sad to leave. Rita timidly asks if he wants to come back to his village to live but Pradeep reassures Rita, saying that he loves her. They’re both very sad their holiday’s coming to an end.
