Pradeep and Rita are in a panic as Roopa’s gone missing in the market. Arun and Ambika have gone to look for her and return with news that some stall holders have seen her with a group of girls. Pradeep can’t believe it, blaming himself for her disappearance but Rita tells him not to – Roopa should’ve stayed close.
Kamla and Pradeep sit outside the house keeping an eye out for Roopa. Kamla asks him if he’s missing anyone from home, and Pradeep instantly knows she means Sarah. How could she imagine that he’d have an affair? Kamla’s embarrassed but they’re interrupted by Roopa’s noisy return with three girls she’s met, been shopping with, and has arranged to go out with later! Rita’s got other ideas, Roopa’s far too young to be going out. However, Ambika’s heard of the club and says it’s ok, and with Arun promising to keep an eye on them, Rita and Pradeep agree she and Jas can go. Later at the club Arun tells them he’s noticed Suresh keeps dropping hints about Kamla staying in India, and that Ambika doesn’t look happy about it at all! They all wish that their parents could sort themselves out, but agree they should be enjoying themselves, so head to the dance floor.
The rest of the family sit on the veranda, and Kamla tells them it’s like the one at the house where she grew up. Suresh tells her he built it because of that and that they’re always welcome there. Suresh tells Jas’s parents that she should come and work in New York – she’s got a sharp enquiring mind that’s wasted in a café. Then he tells them that he won’t be coming to Pradeep’s village tomorrow as he’s got his conference. Rita realises that’s the reason why Suresh wanted to come to India. Later, Suresh tries to convince Rita that he’s committed to sorting out the family’s problems. He’s going to stay by her side until it’s sorted out.
Kamla and Ambika make up Kamla’s bed for the night. Kamla tells Ambika how at home she feels there. Ambika quickly tells her that a married couple need their space. Kamla agrees – it’s been difficult for Rita and Pradeep to have her around, and maybe it’s time she moved to India. Ambika bids her goodnight, and then loudly calls for Suresh.
