Have your say
Sean’s trying to persuade Mary to do something special for her birthday, but she’s not interested, so he starts chatting to a customer about how the area’s changed. Mary comes over, thinking she recognises the face. She’s delighted when she realises it’s Suresh, and is keen to catch up on old times. After he leaves, Mary tells Sean that Suresh is his Uncle. Later, Suresh takes a call from America; his office want to know if he’ll be back to go to a conference in India next week. Suresh tells them they’ll have to change the travel arrangements.
Nadia drops in on Jas at the barge. They talk about Suresh’s arrival, and Nadia asks if she thinks he’ll be able to help. Jas has no idea, and asks after Kamal. Nadia tells her that he’s lost the will to fight, and is thinking of going underground – he can’t risk being sent back to Afghanistan. Jas tells her he’s lucky to have Nadia on his side, but Nadia says that this is turning into a problem. Nadia then tells Jas about Sway’s job offer in Wales, and how she feels she needs to go with him after all they’ve gone through for their relationship. But she feels she needs to be there to support Kamal.
Mushtaq finally turns up at the club and is greeted by an impatient Kenny. Kenny tells him all about the Health and Safety inspector’s visit, which didn’t go well, and their recommendations are going to be expensive. Kenny’s worried Mushtaq will use the money they’ve got for Liam to pay for the modifications they need to make, and tells him he needs it for new players – no replacement for Liam, no club to repair. When Mushtaq gets home, Zenab talks to him about the Health and Safety report. She tells him that buying the club was a mistake, despite Mushtaq’s efforts to remind her how much she likes the socialising side of it all. She says that’s not the point. The club’s the reason why Rozena’s ill, why Imran left and why their home’s at risk. Mushtaq can’t believe her negativity – if he can’t get support from his wife, where can he get it?
