Zak and Fatima are having a laugh as they enjoy a coffee together. Zak suggests she teaches him how to cook then she’ll be freeing his future wife of a life of servitude in the kitchen. He also invites her to Arun’s gig.
Kamla visits Sean at the Golden Crown. She explains that it must have been disappointing to find out Jai was his father and she’s sorry she said he looked like him. Sean tries to get a word in but Kamla continues saying that she will always be there for him, despite the mess Jai’s made, he is her grandson. Sean is touched by what she says and thanks her for the jumper. She takes the chance and asks him whether he knows where Jai is. He has no idea.
Sean rings Siobhan who is so relieved to hear his voice. She starts to apologise but Sean doesn’t want to talk about it and promises that he will ring Hannah. Siobhan says if he wants to talk, she’s around.
Nadia treats Kamal to lunch. He needs cheering up after he lost his application for asylum. They join Zak and Fatima and Kamal explains that the authorities are treating him like a criminal. Fatima thinks he should appeal but Kamal thinks its best to leave it alone now.
Gramps rings Kamla and she asks his advice on whether she should try and get Pradeep and Rita to reconcile. Gramps reckons she should stay out of it and suggests taking her to see a film. They agree on Wednesday, it’s a date.
Nadia notices Kamal hasn’t eaten. Fatima reads out a leaflet of when Abyan was turned away from the café. The leaflet is urging all Muslims to boycott the café. Fatima thinks it’s a disgrace and they call themselves Muslims? Zak thinks he ought to show them to Kuljit and Jodie. Meanwhile Nadia pleads with Kamal, if he appeals, it may even work. He must keep the faith and not give up.
