Roopa has been sitting in the café all day hoping to bump into Sean. Eventually he comes in and goes over to her table. They chat over coffee and Roopa asks if Sean feels weird about being cousins. Sean laughs; everything feels weird to him now. The café’s about to close and Sean gets up to leave but Roopa doesn’t want to go home. Seeing how sad she is Sean sits down again and puts his arm around her to comfort her. Roopa snuggles in briefly then the pair pull apart feeling awkward.
Simran manages to escape from Kamla who is babysitting Kesar and hurries to the restaurant to meet Liam. Over dinner Liam probes her again about Jaggy. She reassures him that they are just friends because of Kesar. Liam seems surprised they are such good friends after a break up like that. Simran realises he’s heard rumours. She tells him he probably hasn’t heard the full story but he stops her. He doesn’t care what happened. Just as things are going well Simran gets a phone call from Kamla crying down the line and has to cut the date short. As she rushes off Liam makes her promise to meet him again, for a longer date next time.
Pradeep calls at the house to try and talk to Krishan but he’s out. Rita explains that all the children are making themselves scarce. Pradeep says he’ll try again at the weekend and goes to leave but seeing Rita is close to tears he changes his mind. Rita explains she was upset because he knocked on the door as though he didn’t belong there. They talk properly for the first time in ages. Pradeep blames himself for embarrassing Krishan by going to the school and showing the video of Mooli. Rita says its not his fault but Krishan does need his father. Pradeep refuses to accept that his leaving has anything to do with it. It’s better that they are apart than together, always fighting. Pradeep tells Rita that Krishan asked him if they only stayed together because of him. He confesses he couldn’t answer because he didn’t know the truth. He explains pointedly that he’ll always be there for the children. His meaning dawns on Rita as she asks, ‘Does that mean you won’t be there for me?’
