Simran comes over to wish Jaggy luck with his first training session at Silverhill Rangers. He’s nervous about working with Kenny Lester and is grateful for her support, it’s more than he got from his mum! As he rushes out to the session he kisses Simran goodbye and there’s an awkward moment as they both wonder where they stand.
Pradeep is ringing round trying to find somewhere to live but can’t believe the rent people charge. Jodie decides this could be an ideal opportunity to get Kuljit to move in with her properly and offers to show Pradeep around his flat. After making Pradeep a slap up breakfast she gives him a tour of the flat and tells him he can move in almost straightaway. Pradeep is delighted, it’s not perfect but it’s much better than some of the places he’s seen.
Pradeep goes back to the café later with a bunch of flowers for Jodie to say thank you. Jodie is touched and Simran wants to know what she’s done to deserve them. When Jodie fills her in Simran thinks it’s great that they are making a commitment, until Jodie confesses that Kuljit knows nothing about it yet.
At the Rangers ground Jaggy and Kenny are walking on eggshells around each other, neither wanting to be pushy. Finally Jaggy loses patience and tells Kenny what he really thinks they should be doing with the team. To both men’s surprise they have exactly the same tactics in mind and they quickly get the team on the right track before kick off. The changes prove successful and Rangers win the match thanks to a great goal from their star striker, Liam. Mushtaq is keen to try and hang onto Liam before the offers from bigger clubs start to roll in and suggests they give him a bonus. Carrie overhears this and pulls Mushtaq to one side. There’ll be no bonuses for Liam, or anyone else – there’s no money left, and if they don’t come up with extra cash from somewhere Silverhill Rangers are done for…
