Siobhan is horrified at the state of the pub’s Christmas tree. It isn’t going to do much for Mary and Bill’s wedding photos and Pete should take it to the tip. Siobhan then adds that Mary has taken Hannah to see Father Christmas in town without her. Pete reckons Siobhan must wish she could fly off to Australia too right now. Siobhan denies this and stomps off leaving Pete wondering what is wrong with her!
Zenab reads out a postcard from Imran who is in Milan. Zenab wishes he could be here for Eid but Mushtaq says they have plenty of guests coming tonight. Mushtaq reckons they should invite Kenny and Sandra but worries it will look bad if they don’t invite Jaggy. Zenab reckons Jaggy and Kenny should be able to keep their personal differences out of the football club. Oh and Mushtaq should invite the new physio chap too!
Siobhan and Jai are on the phone discussing their plan to run away on Sunday. Jai asks where should they go but Siobhan can’t answer because Sean is there. Jai wants to meet Siobhan in person to ‘go through their plans’ but she says she is too busy. Later Pete and Siobhan are chatting in the pub cellar. Pete asks if Siobhan will be OK looking after the pub over Christmas and is told she will cope just fine. Pete says she’d be surprised about the things that can happen in this place. Siobhan agrees. If these walls could talk they’d all be in big trouble.
Zenab isn’t pleased when Mushtaq suggests inviting Zak and Nadia and insists they do it now. Zenab has no choice but to tell Mushtaq what happened last time Zak came for Eid. Mushtaq can’t believe Zenab accused the Akhtars of using black magic against their family. Mushtaq then softens saying he’ll talk to Zak and explain Zenab was under pressure at the time. He reminds Zenab things are looking up for them. All their troubles are in the past now.
Later Jai turns up at the pub and tells Sean he is closing the gym over Christmas. He asks Sean to give Mary his best for the wedding. Sean says he will and they are intending to make it a day to remember. Jai says it will be – there’s no doubt about that……
