Have your say
Talib’s making himself at home, installing broadband, to Zak’s surprise. Talib tells him they need it, and not just for emails; there’s another world out there. And he’s invited some ex housemates over. When they arrive, they’re pleased to see Talib, but Zak didn’t realise it was a party. Zak then opens the door to Fatima – he’s pleased to see a friendly face. They all sit round chatting about social networking sites – Talib’s friend Simon says it’s the way of the future, and Talib agrees. They try to get Zak involved in the discussion but he says that technology will never replace people, and that they can’t rely on machines to witness their lives. Simon jokes it’s like talking to a pensioner, but Zak doesn’t think that’s funny and leaves the room. Fatima calls after him, and follows him to the kitchen. She tells him Simon’s just arrogant, and that she likes Zak because he doesn’t feel he has to prove himself in front of people.
Jai’s really pleased – they’ve got loads of new people signed up to the gym, thanks to Sean’s marketing. Sean asks when they’ll be in for their inductions; he’s keen to get more involved. Jai says people are always ready to sign up, but it’s another thing putting the work in. Jai tells Sean to head out for a break – he deserves it. He returns later, with Pete. They discuss the fact that there’s no-one new coming in – maybe they should remind them about their inductions. Jai tells them that while they were out, one of the new members dropped in. Pete’s annoyed Jai didn’t call him – he isn’t trained to show people the equipment. Sean offers to go to speak to him but Jai says he was only there for ten minutes. Pete tells him next time he’ll be doing the inductions, and Jai reminds him who’s the boss. Later, Pete and Jai leave, Jai armed with boxes of paperwork to take home; Jai will be back to lock up. The two thugs turn up again, looking for Jai. Sean tells them to let Jai and the girl sort it out themselves, but they think Sean’s being a smart arse, and that Jai’s got him doing his dirty work. Sean better give him their message. And they make sure, by violently beating him up.
