Rozena’s got workmen in at the shop. She’s stressed, but when her Dad turns up, she tells him she’s just freshening up the place – he’ll love it when it’s finished. Later, she’s on the phone to Rita telling her that when her dad sees what she’s done, he’ll wish she was on board with Rangers.
Abyan calls in at Kuljit’s studio full of excitement about the gig –his phone’s been red hot since, as people want to know about his next gig. Kuljit tells him the schedule’s looking a bit tight as since the gig, other artists want to get involved. Abyan can’t believe his story, and realises it’s his crowd Kuljit objects to. When pushed, Kuljit admits that it was the leaflets they were handing out that were the problem. Abyan argues that Muslims need all the support they can get, but Kuljit tells him if he can’t leave religion at the door, he can’t play at the café.
Zak’s showing Talib around the area. They spot Rozena outside Jilani stores. Zak introduces Talib, and Rozena jokes that she’s pleased Zak won’t be lonely now he’s got a housemate. Zak asks after Mushtaq and after he and Talib leave, Talib’s impressed that Zak knows the daughter of the owner of Silverhill Rangers. Talib gets a text from his sister, and tells Zak how they used to fight, not that Zak would know about that as he’s an only child.
Zak and Talib discuss Abyan’s gig at the café – they hope he can get a regular spot so maybe Zak could see Fatima again?! They call Abyan over who tells them they shouldn’t be drinking there: the management won’t like it. Kuljit’s stopped him from performing there – he’s shown his true colours. Zak doesn’t believe it. After Abyan’s gone, Zak explains to Talib that Kuls is cool, but has his moments. Kuljit then turns up but is blanked, and realises they’ve spoken to Abyan. He tries to tell them it was about the leaflets but Talib doesn’t believe it. Kuls looks to Zak for support – why does religion have to be part of the gig? Talib tells him religion’s part of everything in Islam, but Kuljit says it’s not about him being a Muslim. Zak and Talib leave: Kuls has messed up bad this time.
