It’s the night of Muslim rapper Abyan’s gig at the café. Zak has invited his friend Talib. Talib’s spread the news across the university campus and the place is filling up with young Muslims keen to check out Abyan’s beats. Jodie is feeling self conscious – she’s not sure if the crowd approves of her short skirt.
Rozena drives Imran to the airport where he’s jetting off on a trip around the world. Imran’s glad to be getting away from all the stress of the Jilani’s new business – the football club. But Rozena wants to be more involved than Mushtaq and Zenab will allow. They share an emotional farewell – finally they’re both free of Micky Reynolds and the trial.
Meanwhile back at the café Abyan’s going down well. Talib introduces Zak to Fatima, a young Muslim who, he’s pleased to discover, is single. Nadia introduces herself to Talib and tells him she’s Zak’s sister. Talib tells Zak he thought he said he didn’t have a sister. Zak thinks on his feet and says they’re all brothers and sisters there tonight. Changing the subject, Zak tells Talib if he still needs somewhere to stay he can move into his place.
Jodie finds a pile of leaflets on one of the tables in the café – ‘The lies perpetuated by the West about Islam’. She’s angry with Kuljit for turning her café into ‘a recruiting ground for enemies of the sate’. Kuls invites Abyan back for another gig, but Jodie tells him there’s no way he’s playing again, and Kuls is going to have to tell him.
