Siobhan, and husband Mark, have brought their daughter Hannah down to Silverhill so she can have a dress fitting with her Gran, Mary. Hannah will be bridesmaid at her Gran’s wedding at Christmas and Siobhan is unhappy that Mary has insisted on making Hannah’s dress. Siobhan has bad memories of being made to wear horrible homemade dresses as a child. Hannah loves the dress, but Siobhan is still fuming. Mark tells her she’s taking out her own hang-ups on Hannah, and when Sean agrees with Mark Siobhan storms out.
Zak goes around to see Sway and Nadia. He tells them how difficult he’s found it dealing with Nadia moving in with Sway. But after a lot of thought he’s decided he can hate their actions without hating them as people. He tells them he’ll always be there for them. Nadia thanks him and Sway invites Zak to Abyan’s gig at the café.
Siobhan goes to see Rita, but finds Pradeep alone in the Chauhan house. Pradeep invites her in and comforts her. They both share stories of their suffocating families.
Meanwhile, Sean tells Mark that he thinks Siobhan should be happy that Hannah has such a strong family around her – Siobhan wasn’t around for him when he was growing up, and though he had Mary, he never had a Dad.
Siobhan tells Pradeep what a good Dad he is and how sad she is that Sean didn’t have that. She tells him that Rita was lucky to have got him.
